Six Facts About Pocket Spring Mattress

Six Facts About Pocket Spring Mattress

What is a pocket spring mattress?

Pocket spring mattresses could be good choices when you look for comfort and support together.

The pocket spring mattress usually consists of individual springs encased in fabric pockets either sewn or hand-tied together.

Pocket springs mattress has a balance of comfort and support, as well as durability.

As each spring works independently, they are excellent choices for sleeping partners of various forms and sizes, because this structure results in a greater level of personalised support and response.

And each spring works independently, it is not likely to have disturbance between two or three people, the individual springs that contour to the body shape can ensure all your body parts can be supported.

Benefit of the pocket springs

  1. All springs work independently to contour the body, so weight will be naturally distributed.
  2. As each spring works by itself, this helps to prevent disturbance or movement transfer between partners.

This is beneficial when you and your partner have quite different weights or if someone tends to toss and turn throughout the night.

Are pocket springs better?

The pocket spring count of a mattress refers to the amount of springs inside the mattress.

Pocket springs are a good material to contribute to the levels of support and firmness, as well as playing an overall definition of the firmness of the mattress.
At the same time, it is important to understand that there is usually more than one element inside the mattress, such as the comfort layers, support layers, natural fillings, or other settings that might have an overall impact on the firmness of the mattress.

It does not mean firmer

More pocket springs won’t necessarily mean your mattress is firmer, a good quality of springs means that they will be able to support your body weight evenly and respond well to your individual movements as you sleep.

Different softness levels of the springs

For example, in our Newentor Hybrid Mattress, we have embedded two types of springs, the blue ones being the more supportive ones, and the white ones being the softer ones.

A well designed mattress will use more customised springs and memory foam layers to achieve different levels of support across the body.

Using different layers of comfort foam and support foam could change the firmness of the mattress.

A good pocket spring mattress can help your back

Pocket spring mattress could help if you have a bad back, because the evenly distributed weight and independent reactions help correct spinal alignment to a greater extent than an open coil.

However, it is also important to consider factors such as overall mattress firmness, whether the mattress is orthopaedic, it is mostly counting on the inside layers and the design of the mattress to judge the final support and back care you could receive.

With Newentor Hybrid Mattress, we specifically designed the 7 Zone Body Support system which we applied across our mattresses.

7 Zone and 4 Softness Levels

The 7 zones of individually wrapped coils achieve 4 types of softness and contour to your head, shoulder, waist, hips, thighs, lower thighs and feet.
